The Food and Wine Festival "A Taste of Carytown" Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost? Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Advance ticket sales end on Saturday October 3rd when the store you are buying them from closes. Online advance ticket sales may end at 5pm on Saturday October 3rd. If you purchase a ticket on Sunday at the gate, it will be $20. Credit Cards will be accepted and there is an ATM on site.

I've never been to the Food and Wine Festival "A Taste of Carytown". Does my ticket include tasting? Yes. Your paid ticket includes a tasting glass and program and you are free to roam. The restaurants will have signature items available for sale and the vineyards will be selling by the bottle and glass for an additional fee.

What about kids? Is it appropriate? All Carytown events are family friendly. We do have live music, a face-painter for the kids and soft-drinks available. Please keep in mind though, this is an event that has alcohol involved.

What about pets? Carytown is extremely pet friendly, though it can get crowded and this event does not have pet facilities available, so please leave your pets at home.

I'm the designated driver for the day. How much to get in? We do offer a designated driver ticket for $10. You will not be able to sample wines with this ticket, but you do get free soft-drinks.

Will there be live music? Yes! We'll have live music all day featuring Jazz and cool Bluegrass Music.

Are there places to sit and relax? Yes, we will have tables for you to sit, relax, share a glass with a friend and eat some delicious food from the participating Carytown restaurants.

My friends and I are coming and would like to shop in Carytown...Are you closing the whole street like with The Watermelon Festival? No. The Food and Wine Festival is contained to Cary Court. Once you've received your wristband, you can come and go throughout the day. As with all Carytown events, we want you to shop and stroll Carytown. Please keep in mind, the festival and Police reserve the right to inspect any bags entering the festival area.

I will be purchasing some of the wonderful Virginia wines of the day. Where do I store them? Most of the vineyards will hold them for you for the day. There is also a storage area at the main gate. We'll hold your tagged purchase for you while you enjoy the festival.
