Richmond's French Film Festival Cancelled for 2023

Richmond, VA…March 9, 2023…In a brief announcement, Dr. Peter S. Kirkpatrick, co-director and co-founder of the French Film Festival, stated that organizers would be unable to hold the 29th annual French Film Festival scheduled to be held March 30-April 2, 2023 at The Byrd Theatre, 2098 W. Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23221. He stated that the difficult decision was made due to unexpected circumstances within the French Film Festival’s organization. No further details are available.


“We know that people in and around Richmond look forward to the French Film Festival each year, and we love to host it here at The Byrd Theatre,” said Benjamin Cronly, The Byrd Theatre Foundation’s Executive Director. “We were saddened to receive the announcement that the Festival organizers will be unable to hold the Festival this year.”
